MODEST PETROVICH MUSSORGKSY

(1838 - 1881)

COMPOSER

In St. Petersburg, a performance of Mussorgsky's opera "Boris Godunov"

brought 30 curtain calls. The composer loved men, music and vodka.

Alcohol addiction stunted his creativity and led to an early death.

Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov

Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov was Mussorgsky's roommate for two years

and estate executor. Thereafter he devoted much of his life to

finishing and refining Mussorgsky's music.
