QUINTUS HORACE FLACCUS

(65 - 8 BC)

POET

Memorial mail, Rome to Salerno, 12 November 1937

Italian stamps commemorate 2,000th anniversary of the birth of Horace.

Horace's bisexuality and male chauvinism are evident in his poetry.

Revering gay relationships as a superior kind of love, the poet's only

experiences with women were in houses of prostitution.
