Lambda was adopted by the Edinburgh International Gay Congress in 1974 as a
symbol of freedom,
justice,
equality and pride in our gay and lesbian heritage, as evidenced by the
accomplishments of the
remarkable
people shown in this collection, who irrevocably put their imprints upon the
course of civilization.
