'The
Glass Menagerie,' 'A Streetcar Named Desire' and 'Cat On A Hot Tin Roof' are
but a few of Williams' most successful plays. He lived life to the fullest,
enjoying many romantic conquests. It was Frank Merlo whom Tennessee loved most
deeply. Merlo's death caused the playwright's lingering depression and alcohol
addiction.
