Sistine Madonna
The
death of Julius II is commemorated by Raphael in his painting, 'Sistine
Madonna'.
Leaning
on the Pope's coffin are two putti (angels of death), patiently waiting for
orders
to
deliver Julius' soul either to Heaven or Hell.
