Eleanor was devastated upon discovering love letters to her husband from

Lucy Mercer. During the presidential election of 1932, Eleanor met

Lorena Hickok, and they became confidantes.

 

         

 

While Franklin continued to have clandestine meetings with Lucy,

Eleanor and Lorena traveled together, and when apart, wrote each

other passionate love letters.
