AUTHOR
During
the course of her life, Colette married three times, had several lesbian
relationships, smoked
cigars
and wore men's clothing. She described her affair with "Mitzy" in The
Vagabond, a work that
shocked
all of Paris. Colette was much loved by all France, and at her death was given a
state funeral.
