(1895
- 1943)
Broadway
songwriter

Commercial
cover, postmarked, Newark, New Jersey, 11 December 1999.
Hart's
genius in writing clever lyrics for Broadway shows made for
a
successful business partnership with song writer Richard Rogers.
Hart
was self-conscious of his looks and height (4' 8"), and was
distressed by
his
homosexuality. His alcohol abuse led to the break-up of the musical duo.

Richard
Rogers next collaborated with Oscar Hammerstein
(neither
one was gay) in the writing of popular musicals.
